Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities – specific responsibilities/Accountabilities/Outcomes:
Delivery/Contractual Management

• Overseeing and managing the installation and maintenance of computer systems, software, and networks.
• Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
• Providing technical support and guidance to other IT staff and end-users.
• Ensuring the security of IT systems and data protection.
• Managing IT projects, including upgrades and migrations.
• Developing and implementing IT policies and best practices.
• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.
• Conducting regular system audits.
• Assisting with the procurement of IT equipment and software.
• Providing training to staff on new technologies.
• Maintain compliance with Group requirements in consultation with Group IT Director
• To undertake any other duties which fall within the job holder s capabilities; aligned to normal duties that management may reasonably request.
• To continually seek improvements in the way your function operates within the business.
• Some travel to other UK offices will be required. Late or weekend working may be required.

Performance Measurement – Key Role Outcomes:

• Certification maintained for Cyber Essentials Plus
• External certification of management system to 27001.
• Microsoft Security Score above industry benchmark.
• No non-conformances raised in client security system assessments.
• Ensuring we get best value from IT procurement.
• IT Helpdesk statistics (e.g. no. of open tickets, time to resolve).

Person specification – Essential/Desirable Qualifications/Experience/Skills/Attributes: Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience

• Hands on knowledge of Microsoft 365 is required to drive the platform forward to ensure the business makes the full use of the collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint etc.).
• A good knowledge of the security features of 365 (Entra/Azure AD) is required to ensure the business leverages the maximum potential of cyber hygiene and GDPR best practice.
• An understanding of Cyber Essentials Plus and CIS security audits is also required to ensure the business meets the challenges of cyber security hygiene. The business is committed to ISO27001 certification.
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, Microsoft Certified IT Professional).
• Proven experience in a Senior IT Technician role, with a solid understanding of IT infrastructure and operations.
• A good hands on understanding of the M365 product suite including security and productivity gains (Entra/Azure AD/InTune/AutoPilot).
• Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and commonly used software.
• Practical understanding of Teams and SharePoint.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple vendors and projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, ITIL practices, and IT governance.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work well with all levels of the business
• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
