This role is for the Nuance Security department within the Microsoft Security Response Center team (MSRC). Security Engineer 2 will be part of the Nuance Security & Intelligence Operations (SIO) team. They will be responsible for taking the lead on major incident response activities, and mentoring less experienced analysts. They will also help mature the SIO team in general, including automating key tasks, and helping implement new processes and tools. They will be a key member of the team working on UK sovereign clients, and therefore eligibility for UK Security Clearance is essential.
Responsibilities
Vigilantly monitor security alerts and logs, embodying our proactive and growth-oriented security ethos.
Analyze and triage security events with a mindset geared towards continuous improvement and learning.
Collaborate in incident response, leveraging collective knowledge and a customer-obsessed approach to problem-solving.
Uphold and enhance security incident management processes, reflecting our commitment to integrity and accountability.
Contribute to the evolution of SOC strategies, demonstrating a passion for innovation and a drive to create better solutions.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics, security incident and event management (SIEM), information technology (IT), and operations incident response OR Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, and anomaly detection OR Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
CISSP, CISA, CISM, SANS, GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, and/or Security+ certification
