We have an exciting opportunity here at our Gen2 Office in Cumbria working as System Support Lead! In this pivotal role you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, innovating, and implementing SaaS and core business products in line with contractual and regulatory requirements.
You will be tasked with supporting the employer businesses in the delivery to our customers, enabling the organisation and building, maintaining and scaling out existing services.
This appointment will be made on merit.

About the role
As System Support Lead, you will track and implement contractual and regulatory standards and obligations, such as Cyber Essentials, ISO27001, Ofsted and Safeguarding in the business’ product suites.
You will take a leading role in new systems to make sure end user documentation and procedure is of the highest standard and processes are implemented and maintained to ensure the systems are In line with business requirements.
Working with the tech team, you will help minimise or eliminate risk and points of failure for relevant systems.
You will be required to assess the effectiveness of existing technology and platforms and how the business uses them, optimising and leading change if required.
You will facilitate wider audit processes with regards to policy governance and procedure working within the wider City & Guilds group business.
About you
You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as you will be required to articulate the business and technical benefits and drawbacks of products and solutions.
Extensive IT experience across a variety of products and solutions will be a mandatory requirement in order to excel in this role. You will have expertise in cloud-based solutions, compute and storage platforms (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
As system support lead you will need exceptional stakeholder management skills, able to engage with colleagues at all levels across the business both technical and non-tech colleagues.
You should have a natural ability to learn new technology and adapt quickly to change in a fast-paced environment.
You will bring experience of working in multi-site enterprise environments across multiple physical locations.
Adherence of security standards including Cyber Essentials Plus will be required.
You must be able to pass an enhanced security check (DBS). A full UK driving license will also be needed in this role.
Whilst not mandatory, it would be beneficial to have a proven track record of using ITIL practices and techniques to deliver measurable business outcomes in a large scale, complex educational organisation.
