Threat Hunter / Penetration Tester

Remote based.

A Threat Hunter sought by one of the UK’s foremost Managed Security Service Providers; a Microsoft Top 1% MSSP. The organisation (of 700 individuals), provides IT services to numerous enterprise scale household name businesses, both public and private sector.

The fastest growing function within the business is cyber, having doubled in size in the past 18 months and currently sitting at 45 individuals. As such, this role offers very genuine opportunity for progression, within an organisation which is very much at the top of their game.

Their managed services support teams are seeking a skilled Threat Hunter to join their ranks. In this role, you will be the Red Team Lead, responsible for planning and leading adversary simulations, mapped against the MITRE ATTACK matrix whilst also working collaboratively with all areas of the business, identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities.

Role Snapshot:

• Conduct comprehensive penetration tests to identify system weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
• Proactively hunt for potential threats using advanced tools and methodologies, ensuring preemptive mitigation.
• Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to promptly analyze and respond to security incidents.
• Craft detailed reports delineating discovered vulnerabilities and recommend robust remediation strategies.
• Stay abreast of cybersecurity trends, tools, and tactics to enhance defensive capabilities.

Key Requirements:

• Proven track record in penetration testing, threat hunting, or similar roles.
• Proficiency with cybersecurity tools (e.g., Metasploit, Nessus, Wireshark).
• Strong grasp of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud infrastructures.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CEH, OSCP) are highly valued.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and an acute attention to detail.

Certified in any of the following are desirable:

• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
• Certified Red Teams Operations Professional (CRTOP)
• Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
• CompTIA Security+
• GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN)
• Certified Cloud Penetration Tester (CCPT)
• CompTIA PenTest+

Remote based.

Paying up to 70k, depending on experience.
